Here at Darlac, we’re often recognised for the quality and great value of our tools. Many of our products are award winners, and time and time again our incredible garden and watering tools are put to the test and come out on top – this month is no exception!
We were honoured to have two of our gardening products put to the test recently as part of Amateur Gardening magazine’s Tried & Tested section, reviewed by Steve and Val Bradley. The 1 July edition reviewed the performance of six different long-reach hand tools for use on raised beds, and we’re delighted to say that our Telescopic Double-Sided Rake earned top marks – being awarded the week’s prestigious ‘Best Buy’.
We had a great write up for our double sided rake tool, and scored 5/5 across the board for features, performance and specifications:
“The rake can be extended or closed by twisting the head while holding the outer shaft handle. The adjustable shaft and range of tine sizes made this a very useful and adaptable tool.”
With a telescopic pole that extends from 81.5cm to 138cm, it’ll reach across even the deepest of beds and keep the backache at bay. The deep, long tines are ideal for heavy duty jobs such as loosening soil, levelling earth and gravel, and collecting weeds and trimmings, while the shorter tines are just what you need to create a fine tilth for seed sowing or planting, or to even scratch moss out of lawns.
Steve & Val also featured the short handled version of our Darlac Weeding Spear Hoe, as well as our Short Handled Narrow Draw Hoe, which each scored 14/15 and 13/15, respectively. Part of our vintage bamboo tool range, both tools earned top marks for their description and specs. Our weeding hoe was praised for being light and easy to use, commenting on its barbed edge being great for hooking and cutting bigger weeds, while our narrow draw hoe was praised for its usefulness, and they noted its ability to give good clean cuts.
We love being recognised for the quality products we make, and we look forward to seeing them being ‘put to test’, because we know we’ll stack up! Thank you to Amateur Gardening magazine for showcasing our long-handled gardening tools.
