Sales at Darlac, the cutting tools experts, have increased 30% since GLEE 2018 with the addition of over 130 new garden centre stockists the company have announced.
In addition, Darlac have seen most of their existing stockists doubling their range in the year due to a positive sales performance.
The company has seen the number of retail stockists increase to 500 outlets including the addition of Hilliers, Klondyke and Robert Dyas and an expansion in the Notcutts group of centres. Within the year Darlac has continued to develop the network of agents with new agents in the South West, Wales and Midlands.
One great success story for 2019 has been a range listing in the prestigious Hilliers group of centres. Initially in six centres, Darlac tools were quickly rolled out into the remaining six centres on the back of strong sales to keen gardeners.
Rob Grayson, Head of Purchasing at Hillers, commented: “Darlac have been good to work with and the tools have been a sales success for us. We are very pleased with results to date and gardeners appreciate the quality, look and feel of the tools.”
Business Development Manager Chris Owen is delighted with development. “These continue to be exciting times for Darlac and the response from the trade to our offering has continued to be phenomenal. Darlac tools have a great quality at affordable prices image which fits neatly into any offering – whether as the main brand or the secondary brand. All stockists are giving us great feedback on positive customer reaction and sales.”
Looking ahead, Chris said: “We are confident we can develop the Darlac distribution further in the year ahead.”
