Consumer champion Which? enlisted the help of 4 gardeners of varying heights to try out each pair of edging shears. Having gardeners of different heights was important to their tests, as one of the testing criteria included whether the products caused back strain – the shears need to be comfortable to use whatever your height. As us gardeners well know, backache can set in quickly if your tools are too short or too long for the task at hand.
As well as back strain, each pair of shears was graded on a scale of 1 to 5 stars on neatness of cut, handling weight, comfort of hand grips, ease of use and cushioned blades. We’re so pleased that our telescopic edging shears scored brilliantly across the board, especially in the handling weight, ease of use and back strain categories.
